A long but enjoyable ferry ride to Argentia, Newfoundland. The ferry is huge, and as it has stabilizers, there was no seasickness. One is allowed the run of the boat, which has about nine decks. I watched a very clear sunset into the Atlantic. The moon was full and painted a great picture on the night sea. At about midnight, the ferry docked. We cycled by moonlight to free camp at a tourist information centre.

Our final full day of cycling. I misread the map, and our road out of Placentia turned into gravel. We cut back to Highway 1. It was a long stretch to St. John's. We dove off of the main highway to Conception Bay. We finally made St. John's at night. St. John's is very hilly and we had very stiff climbs to the hotel.

A rest day. I enjoyed the Railway Coastal Museum. |

A short coast to St. John's Harbour for our victory photo. More stiff climbing to the cycle shop for bike packing. Our flight was cancelled and we were put up in a decent airport hotel. We fly back to Toronto tomorrow.
